We had a CPU die in our laptop and all the settings for our styles and profiles have not migrated to the new install. Where are those files stored in Mach 3's program and how do we restore that information? We did a new install and transferred our license. I attempted to move any folders and files over from the old hard drive which I have the old files and settings stored on. It would take hours and days to rewrite all those scripts and settings. Windows 10 and Cambam 9.57
Help.

Hello

for Mach3
Machine profiles are in the mach3 install folder (.xml files)

Screenset are in the same folder for the description file (.set files) and the pictures for the Mach3 UI are in the /Bitmaps folder.

Specifics M codes are in /macros/your_machine_profile_name folder.

Re-install Mach3 then just copy the files at the right place in the new insta.

For Cambam

If you are using the default path for the cambam system, you can find all styles, tool library, etc in
C:\ProgramData\CamBam plus 0.9.8

Thank you for the suggestion, but it didn't seem to work. We located the files on the old drive and tried a few things. We copied and overwrote the current files in an effort to re-establish the old cut profiles, but that didn't work. We theorized that maybe opening the program on the external hard drive was simply pathing back to the program on the new computer and tried remapping it, but that didn't work. We used a command prompt xcopy to transfer all the files from our external hard drive to the hard drive on our desktop and none of the original styles, tools, and material files transferred. We cannot go further into the file tree with Windows 10 than F:\ProgramData\CamBam plus 0.9.8 on the external drive. It would take a command prompt beyond our current understanding to just transfer the three file folder and files due to the limited access on the now read only hard disk.

Any help is appreciated.

Are you saying that win 10 will not open the folders,or copy and past them.
could be you need to make permisions on old drive let you.
so right click the old hard drive go to properties/security and change the permisions for that drives users etc to full control.
Hope this works for you.

Permissions were already given to open the drive, the only way to access the file directory is through the Command Prompt, otherwise the program itself launches. We can't find the files containing the old profiles and cuts. The files are contained under the files that launch the program so we need the actual directory paths to the affected files. We have attempted to copy all the files from the old drive with no success of transferring the necessary files. Only the default files appear when we copy the drive to our new drive.
