I just installed and configured a 4th axis on the mill. Everything is setup and working perfectly. I can use MDI to move the axis but I cannot figure out how to jog the axis with the keyboard. Is there a set of keys that are already configured like X, Y, and Z or do I have to manually setup the A axis with the system hot keys.

read somewhere it was - and + but that did not work.

I also tried to search "jogging A axis" but the forum won't search unless all words are more than one character so that was zero help.

Thanks in advance.

Hello

On mine, the keys Insert and DEL are used to move the 4th axis (jog hotkey: 45 and 46 in the hotkey setup)

Go to Config/System Hot Keys to see what the defaults are.  You can set to anything you like.

Thats what I did. All 4 axis were 999 so I did the A axis to + and - and the A worked and the x, Y, and Z stopped working. Then I did all 3 of those from 999 to the standard mach3 keys and all 4 work now.

In Mach3 I set the X-Y axis to keyboard arrow keys, Z axis PgUp- PgDn keys, A axis Home-End keys..(#36,35 keys I believe)

On mine too. Seems to be the defaults as I had not changed them in the setup.

So there is no standard keys in Mach3.  I will probably change to Insert and Delete next time i'm out in the shop.

Thanks!!
