Could you please add a shortcut ?

For it´s really annoying doing that by mouse again and again :
Aim nearby exactly to the item, right klick, drop down menu - select add or remove
a holding tab.

If you move the mouse out of the drop down menu, it disappears
and you have to re-start the procedure.

Bernhard,

I have one of these; http://xkeys.com/xkeys/xk24.php
it took me about two minutes to program two keys for Add and Remove, Holding Tabs

Just position the mouse near a tab then press the appropriate key.

It recorded two macros consisting of;

(for Add Tab) Right Mouse click, 13 Tab keys, one cursor right, Enter key pressed.
(for Remove Tab) Right Mouse click, 13 Tab keys, one cursor right, onr cursor down, Enter key pressed.

EDIT:  Maybe this free macro recorder would do it ? https://www.macrocreator.com/

Eddy,

not really what I thought about, but leads me to use a AUTOHOTKEY script as a workaround.  Grin

Best regards

Bernhard

PS.: Works like a charm. Here´s the autohotkey script

Code:
;Cambam Holding Tab add
HoldingTabAdd()
{
MouseClick, right
send {DOWN 13}
send {RIGHT}
send {ENTER}
}

;Cambam Holding Tab remove
HoldingTabRemove()
{
MouseClick, right
send {DOWN 13}
send {RIGHT}
send {DOWN}
send {ENTER}
}

; CAMBAM Holding tab ADD
!t:: HoldingTabAdd()

;CAMBAM Holding tab REMOVE
!r:: HoldingTabRemove()

Many programs have customization options which allow the user to assign own shortcut keys or modify the existing ones. I'd like to see such option in the next development stage.

Maybe this could be achieved also with a "plugin", not promising anything, but soon I'm investigating on two things:

1) a way to add some shortcuts to the menu (need some research to retrieve the actual menu settings)
2) add a way to check for the generated tabs (This is more challenging as the tabs are created when the profile is created and then each tab has to be "chcecked" for "correctness" i.e no red cross on it and then moved, but seems that internally the tabs are stored ad "amount of distance in the "perimeter" so some data has to be retrieved and some calculations are needed.)

For now this is for the 0.9.8 as the 1.0 on Linux seems to be prone to crach at least on my machine.
