Ok... I see the examples.  I only saw one posted with your last, but you provided a couple more prior to that.

Did you try my experiments to see if V1 and the T-command will work in a G1 or G3?  If not, it means you MUST enter a G0 with those before proceeding to G1,2,3, etc.

From their example, it appears they always issue V1 and T-x in a G0, but that doesn't mean they won't work in other commands.

Please try the experiments above (after you've figured-out the editor! <grin>).

I noticed your posting on the cnczone thread from which I understand that you are rebuilding/ updating your Morbidelli machine.
I tried to contact you via that site but unfortunately my reply does not seem to show.

I should much appreciate if you could email copies of all the pdf manuals that you have relating to the Morbidelli U13, the TRIA controller, the Vickers servodrives, etc.

I have a Morbidelli U13 which is functional.
I am interested in upgrading the electronics and control software.

Probably it will be mutually beneficial for us to collaborate!

I have a background in electronics hardware and software but need to investigate aspects of CNC systems and software - which I am currently very busy doing.
You will appreciate that until I investigate details of the U13 and study the subjects in detail, I am unable to provide you with any specific advice.
However, with my background, after studying the manuals, I expect to gain an in-depth understanding of the machine and its control systems, following which I can probably provide you with assistance.

Lloyd, I am sorry for taking up your time with this, and then just disappearing completely...

I am currently half way into my 5 month paid parental leave, so every time baby Anna goes for a nap I have some time to work on my hobbies :-)

I'm trying to edit the Default post processor so that it spits our something that my machine can understand, but I have ruin into a few hurdles:
My X and Z axes are inverted, and for X that's not a real problem, as the machine has built in commands to remedy that (something to do with writing a few lines of g-code and inverting first the x, and then the y, in order to make symmetrical cabinet sides)
The Z-axis however is a bit more tricky, as there is no codes in the controller to flip it.

Can you think of an easy piece of code to invert the output g-code for z?


Also, the controller demands to now stock dimensions at the beginning of each program ( H DX=208 DY=315 DZ=28.7 -A C0 R200 /DEF) the rest is just "area A of the machine", units, "default fixturing" etc...

Is it at all possible to do these things in CamBam?

Actually it's Y and Z that is inverted, sorry about the typo.
Home or 0,0,0 is with the tool all the way to to the back, left and up, whereas the normal coordinate system has 0,0,0 at front left lower corner.

I thought the same and that's why I asked.
I am thinking whether it will be possible to invert the 'dir' signals or in case of stepper motors just swap the ends of one coil and make the machine move in reverse direction so that X0/Y0 is at the lower left corner. But perhaps it will requite limit and end switches reconfiguration.

Well, there are no steppers in this machine, only DCservos. Changing direction on the servos are super easy, but then the encoders are wrong, possibly the tach also.
And not to mention that all five position switches (home, min,max,min overtravel, max overtravel) would have to be rerouted.
And I do think this would lead to quite the cock-up of the PLC in the controller...
 I'd rather prefer not having to go down this route :-)
