GrabCAD now has this ability built in.  You can upload a .sldprt file and then download as a more portable format like .stp or .iges.  I just converted 6 files to .stp format last night.  Otherwise I would have been forced to work with them in Fusion360, and a lot of what I can do in ViaCAD is not practical in Fusion, or I just don't know how. 

GrabCAD is an online CAD system.  You just have to register to use it.

I didn't know until now that Rhino3D can import .sldprt and .sldasm files among many others.

I didn't know that either!  That will be useful as I use Rhino to simplify SW parts that we get from vendors.  Currently saving to STEP then loading in Rhino.
