Just completed my first CNC Router Build and now trying CamBam. Retired IT with extensive Linux.

Installed 64-bit apps and system files into default directory (CamBam plus 1.0) but changed to CamBam-plus-1.0 so I don't have to put single quotes in path when creating app menu entry or desktop link.

Starting CB gives usual license popups.

Tried to change path in setup but when I save settings I get 'Error Reflecting Style CamBam.CamBamConfig'

Created a circle but there are no styles (Style "" Not Found)

and 'Style Library Standard-mm not found' and there are no Tool Libraries found either (these exist in the default directory after install though)

So I can't save settings or load libraries.

Seems to be a path problem

Look in

Tools >> Options

Switch to advanced.  Make sure the system path is correct.

You have to download the archive with the additional files and copy them to ~/.config/CamBam1.0
http://www.cambam.co.uk/downloads/dw/CamBam1.0-mono.system.tgz

Those are the files which reside in' \Documents and Settings\All Users' in Windows.

Before asking a question do some effort and walk through all menus and options in CamBam.  Maybe the answer is there. Please.

Ah, OK moved system files from app directory to .config directory.

Still can't save config get Error Reflecting Type CamBam.CamBamConfig

I don't get Style errors now and I can select tool # from dropdown.

Perhaps you are missing some Mono libraries.  If you start CB from terminal perhaps you will see some error messages about it.

This is a quick and dirty script I use to install Mono for CB
Code:
#/bin/bash
sudo apt-get install mono-runtime
sudo apt-get install libmono-system-windows-forms4.0-cil
sudo apt-get install libmono-system-web4.0-cil
sudo apt-get install libmono-system-design4.0-cil
sudo apt-get install libmono-system-numerics4.0-cil
sudo apt-get install libmono-system-xml4.0-cil
sudo apt-get install libmono-system-xml-serialization4.0-cil
sudo apt-get install libmono-microsoft-visualbasic10.0-cil
sudo apt-get install libmono-microsoft-visualc10.0-cil

OK had to install two missing mono pkgs, CB now modifies and saves config no errors.

Thanks!
