Yes, it would look trapezoidal IF viewed perpendicular to the direction of cut AND if 'triangular' tabs are selected.

Keep in mind that the tool cuts a rounded leading (and trailing) edge... so in the very center of the groove produced by the tool, the holding tab is narrower than at the edges of that groove.  It's that narrowed-down portion that is the 'width' specified in the holding tab settings.
