I did some specific tests and was not able to get it to duplicate.  I did have it happen more than once the other day, so I expected it to be easily replicated.  My issue may not have come from your MOP plug-in.  It might be related to the instability CamBam sometimes exhibits when its been open doing complex work for several hours.

Hello

Not tried with the very last version, but with the 2.1 it has a different comportment with the start point on a circular pocket, depending on the shape position (start point set to the center)

have a look here.

dh42, thank you for bug report.

Funny enough, the circular pocket is the worst shape possible for the calculation.
Infinite number of axes of symmetry, shape skeleton is just a single center point.
Last version should bug too.

I'll see if it could be fixed .. maybe as a some 'special case' in code.

First post updated with v2.1.2

* a lot of fixes for wide-angle slices - completely missed slices, wrong entry TEA calculation etc
* special handling for circular pockets
* each slice is made from two arcs now

I started using the plugin on foamed PVC - just to get the grip on trochopocket parameters. And I like it more with each try. I even tried it on aluminum. Very conservative settings because of the low power spindle, didn't gain in time but the long fluffy chips made my router look like a real machine Smiley

I think its a great rough operation.  Biggest thing for me is I don't have to consider the extreme spike in spindle load in the corners like with a regular operation.  That allows me to use faster feeds.  It can save time on some types of operations, but with my not so rigid high speed machines it does leave some unpleasant tool marks compared to other ways of doing a job.  Hence why I primarily use it as a roughing operation.  In fact its used as standard operations in a couple of my templates.

I also regard it as an operation for removing bulk material.  I had to mill large digit shaped pockets in PVC and decided to give it a try, almost no risk for the tool and the material is not expensive Smiley  Because of that I used mixed milling mode and the bottom marks were quite acceptable.  They will be hidden anyway.

Why does my link to 'plugins' not have near as many options?

How do you get a circular entrance into the pocket instead of a plunge move?  I love this MOP, other than this issue.  Hopefully I am doing something wrong.
Thanks!

Lead-in, select Spiral or Tangent. Without seeing what you want to cut, I think you be better of with spiral entry
