Hello,

Quote
What I'd like to see next is the 'News' section of the main website updated on a regular basis because I feel the lack of updates turn some potential customers away.

Eddy, you can develop ? .. what need to be changed on the page ?

You talk about this page, yes ?

Yes that is the page but now I have looked again it is not so bad.
The bad page is this one http://www.cambam.info/downloads/
and it is bad because the dates are old.
When I go to a website I look at the dates, if they are old I think the website is abandoned, so I thought that by putting some new dates and information on the 'News' page it would look like the site was still in use.

One would think that Andy would be concerned about it. But it is apparent this is not the case..  Cheesy

I just hope that Andy is working on something like Dynamic opti-core milling https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvpQMjv470M or 4th axis simultaneous. That would blow our socks off. But maybe he is taking a well deserved vacation at the beach with his feet up drinking those imported beers. Maybe that will get old after a while and he will be itching to get back to coding and working in the shop.

Exactly, how much software do you know of that is in beta for so long ?

Last final release; 10 May 2013 build 0.9.4878.23990 Rev N
Almost 2 years, that's a long time for modern software I would suggest, even worse when there are no signs of life on the website.

Yes you are correct, the software works well for me too.

So for me it does not matter about the CamBam website not being updated other than I like to see development, the issue is that I think it puts off potential new customers but that is something for Andy to think about.

Yes, I agree. IMHO, a good thing would be that at least a new "Q release" is written with small additions easy to add for Andy and that can't disturb things like toolpath generation but adds "visible" things for the potential customers, like more toolbar, some new drawing tools (ie: splines, that exists as drawing objects but can't be created in CB, extend a line, corner with 2 lines ..) to show that things are always in progress.

Yes, that's all that is needed, maybe incorporate some existing scripts or plugins ?

Do you get a moderation screen similar to this one?
Sorry, the forum is in Bulgarian and I did a quick translation back to English.
You select a thread to be merged clicking on 'merge' button at the bottom of the screen when the topic is open. The button should take you to this screen. There you select (if you wish to change) the section for the merger and below enter the ID number of the target thread. When you click on a title the topic is opened in new tab/window to see and copy its ID.
BTW, Is there a Trash section, where deleted topics and posts go? Usually there is a service section visible only to admins and moderators.  You can create threads there and play with them (merge, delete, move, etc.)without anybody noticing Smiley

With regard to version Q, for example if the 3DConnexion space mouse plugin I wrote was incorporated it could be put on ths list;
http://www.3dconnexion.co.uk/supported-software/software0.html
I believe it has to pass a quality check by them first.
